Religious Education
Myatt Garden has no religious affiliation and we approach religious education (RE) from a multi-faith perspective.
We have adopted the Local Education Authority’s agreed syllabus, which teaches children about Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism. The world’s major religions are taught to help children appreciate and respect not only their own culture and beliefs, but also those of others, including respect of those with no religious belief. Respect of others is a key aspect of the curriculum and we celebrate the diversity of our school community.
Assemblies are held daily in age phases and once a week as a whole school.
Whilst we believe that religious education in school is important for all children, parents have the right to withdraw their child from RE provided they notify the head teacher in writing.
